Philippians 1:7-11

Philippians 1:7-11

For Paul, to remember was to pray for all believers in Philippi. He now tells us what his prayer consisted of. That their love would abound more and more in knowledge and discernment. A love void of knowledge and discernment is not biblical love.He then describes for us what this love will look like. It is a love that approves the things that are excellent. It is a love that is fully sincere and transparent. A love that never causes another to stumble. And finally, a love that bears the fruit of righteousness that comes from Jesus. Do we pray for one another despite our circumstances. Are we walking in true biblical love. Is our love filled with knowledge of God's word and discernment that comes from the Holy Spirit. May we all walk in true Christ like love according to God's word in the power of the Holy Spirit. May our lives be to the glory and praise of God.

Chapter 1
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
