Philippians 1:27-30

It is an absolute certainty that all who are in Christ and living for Christ will be in an epic spiritual battle. This great spiritual battle will only intensify as the return of Christ draws near. Paul will supply for us three essentials to living in the victory of Christ in the midst of this raging spiritual warfare. First, we are to live a godly life in Christ Jesus. We do this by living in humble, faithful obedience to Jesus and His word. Next, we are to live in true biblical unity. And finally, we are not to live in fear. We are not to fear any of our adversaries which are many. We are to live in the fear of God, not the fear of man. As believers, we have been graciously given the privilege to believe in Jesus. But we have also been given the privilege to suffer for the sake of Christ. It is only by making application of these three essentials that we will be able to suffer for Christ to the glory of the FatherMay we all live our lives to the fullest for Jesus and to the glory of the Father.

27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
