I Thessalonians 2:13

In this verse we see the importance of the word of God in the work of God. Every work of God begins with the word of God. Paul and company did not come to the Thessalonians with gimmicks, sleight of hand or bait and switch. They came to them with Jesus and His word. As a result, God did a great work among the Thessalonians. For us, is Jesus and His word enough. There is so much in the church today that distracts and detracts from the word of God. Where is our heart? Is Jesus and His word enough?

13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
